Vieira Natividade Museum
Vieira Natividade Museum in Alcobaça
The Vieira Natividade museum is a space that is different from the usual one, since it is installed exactly in the house where Manuel Vieira Natividade lived, an archaeologist from Alcobaça to whom this space is dedicated.
Vieira Natividade’s family donated the archaeologist’s estate to the state, which has a very valuable collection that includes elements ranging from archeology and ethnography, to plastic arts, photography, textiles and ceramics.
The purpose of this donation was to create the Vieira Natividade Museum, the donation also included the house where Manuel Vieira Natividade lived, and it is essential that it be used precisely for exhibition purposes.
The Vieira Natividade house itself is also not just any building, being a centenary house, conceived in 1914 by Raul Lino, it is also also a reason for interest that complements the museological contents of the exposed collection.
Having Alcobaça a lot to see and discover, and although it is currently closed to the public, you will certainly pass by to at least get to know the space.
And of course, the city has much more to offer you and where you can be surprised more easily with each step you take.
